The Commission are to publish revisions to their proposals for the parliamentary constituency boundaries to take account of local views expressed at the recent public inquiry.

The Boundary Commission are to publish revised recommendations for the parliamentary constituencies in Humberside on 9 December 1993. The Assistant Commissioner who conducted the inquiry supported the Commission in their proposal to allocate an additional, tenth, seat to the county to reduce the existing high constituency electorates, but suggested several alterations to the Commission's proposals.

The Commission now propose to include the following in their report to the Home Secretary, but will give careful consideration to any further representations made in response to their public notice.

The Commission must submit their report on the general review for the whole of England to the Home Secretary not later than 31 December 1994. It is the Home Secretary's duty to lay the Commission's report before Parliament together with a draft Order in Council giving effect to the recommendations with or without modifications.

Further information may be obtained by writing to the Commission's at the above address or by telephoning: Humberside enquiries/ 071-396 2157.
