Partnership seeks private sector 'name'

A chief executive is being sought to head up the new Leicester regeneration company.

The company, set up by Leicester City Council, the East Midlands Development Agency and English Partnerships, is seeking an 'ambassador who knows what makes the private sector tick'.

PricewaterhouseCoopers executive search and selection has been asked to fill the£100,000 a year role. It is looking for a 'name' in the regeneration and development world.

The regeneration company is one of 12 to be set up over the next three years to breath new life into local environments and economies, through developments including job and training opportunities in partnership with other agencies.

Chairman of the Leicester company Peter Wheeler said: 'We want a chief executive who has the skills to translate our master plan into development solutions and achieve early wins, while still taking a longer term strategic view.

'The manifestation of our vision will be an environment of quality embodying the beliefs and confidence of its citizens, today and for future generations.

'The aim of the company is to improve the quality of Leicester's environment and attractiveness to its people, visitors and investors.'
