The Welsh Office have been urged to make Pembrokeshire's Cleddau Bridge part of the trunk road system paid for by central government and save the new Pembrokeshire CC £20m in 1995, the Western Mail reports (p7).

There are fears that huge recontruction costs could hit the new unitary authority hard. The population of Pembrokeshire should not have to shoulder the burden of work vital to the national road system, it is argued on the paper.
