Castle Morpeth BC has thrown out major development plans which would have, according to The Journal (p12), changed the face of the historic Northumberland town of Morpeth.

Councillors voted 15 to 13 to remove plans for a new 65 acre project at Parish Haugh of 450 houses and a relief road from the borough's future planning blueprint.
