A Plymouth city council report recommends that 'cultural zones' should be set up in the city, the Western Morning News reports.

According to the newspaper the council is concerned that Plymouth has a reputation as a 'cultural desert'. Differing areas of the city would be designated cetres for performing arts, exhibitions and visual arts.

The council report says over the last 10 years £40 million hs bee spent on cultural activities in the city.
