Building a stronger national voice for local communities is a prime aim of the LGA. It is out to put local government back at the heart of the nation.
Mr Katz, 25, is a former political journalist and researcher. He has worked for the BBC on live political programmes and in the political research unit. More recently, he worked for The Economist in the run-up to, and during, the general election.
From his work as a researcher, Michael has wide experience of the many different issues affecting local government. Also, he has previously worked on the employment, health and education portfolios as press officer to Harriet Harman MP and researcher to David Blunkett MP.
