Eden DC has appointed an interim chief executive while it undertakes a review of all management posts and services, it has been announced.
Council leader Gordon Nicolson (Con) defended the interim arrangement and said the estimated additional costs of £31,000 had to be set against the anticiapted £400,000 annual savings expected from work on restructuring, transformation and shared services.
Robin Hooper, left, who was chief executive of Shrewsbury & Atcham BC before he joined law firm HBJ Gateley Wareing, has been named as interim chief executive.
Cllr Nicolson said: “We shortlisted a number of high quality candidates for the post, but Robin is the calibre of person we are looking for.
“He has the necessary skills and extensive experience to implement the council’s decisions through this transformation period, as we seek to address the council’s budget deficit and respond to the impact of the coalition government’s comprehensive spending review.”
