LGC Awards deadline extended

  • Comment

You now have until Wednesday to celebrate your council’s innovation by entering the 2015 LGC Awards.

The deadline for entering the awards which give a showcase to the projects that are doing the most to provide the public with better, more efficient council services is now 11.59pm on Wednesday.

The deadline had been set for last Friday but LGC decided to extend it after the weight of entries coming in led to problems with our website. Apologies if you encountered any problems.

Two of the most prestigious awards are Council of the Year - won last year by Durham CC - and Most Improved Council.

For full details of all the categories visit the LGC Awards website.

Other coveted categories include those for commissioning pioneer, driving growth, efficiency, entrepreneurial councils, health and social care, and innovative service delivery models.

LGC editor Nick Golding said: “Never has it been more important to share the innovation that will enable councils to help their local population by improving service quality at a time of constraint.

“The LGC Awards provide one of the best means of disseminating good practice across the country, to ensure that all areas benefit from others’ expertise.”

Entrants have to submit a single statement to stand their chance of winning. Finalists receive a special report to help them benchmark their performance.
