Newcastle-under-Lyme appoints chief

  • Comment

Newcastle-under-Lyme BC has announced the name of its next chief executive.

John Sellgren, who is currently the director of strategy and partnerships at Hertfordshire CC, replaces Mark Barrow who left earlier this year to become Birmingham City Council’s regeneration director.

Councillors said Mr Sellgren, has also previously worked with Norfolk CC, had been chosen from among a very high calibre of candidates.

Leader Simon Tagg (Con) said the standard of applicants was “a reflection of the reputation which our council has managed to build on the national stage”.

He added: “We are now looking forward to welcoming John to the council and are confident he will do a terrific job”.
