Derby city appoints new chief

  • Comment

Derby City Council has appointed Carole Mills as chief executive.

Ms Mills, currently chief executive of Milton Keynes Council, is the permanent successor to Paul Robinson, who joined Worcestershire CC in March.

She has been Milton Keynes chief executive since 2014, having previously held senior roles at Walsall MBC and Nottingham City Council.

She said: “I’m delighted to be joining Derby City Council at such an exciting time.

“Derby is growing with a strong economy and has ambitious plans for the future.”

Deputy chief executive Christine Durrant, who has held the role on an interim basis since Mr Robinson’s departure, is to remain in the job until Ms Mills takes over in the summer.
