Former Islington chief to join North Somerset

  • Comment

Former Islington LBC chief executive Helen Bailey has been appointed interim chief executive at North Somerset Council.

Ms Bailey’s appointment was approved by the council’s employment committee on Friday and she will join North Somerset for a two-week handover period before the departure of chief executive Mike Jackson at the end of June.

Mr Jackson is to become executive director of resources and head of paid service at Bristol City Council.

As well as her time at Islington, Ms Bailey has previously been director of public services at the Treasury and served as chief executive of local partnerships and chief officer in the London Mayor’s office for policing and crime.

Most recently she was chief executive at consultancy Impower.
