The interim chief executive and chief finance officer at Northamptonshire CC have resigned.
A recent email to councillors from Northamptonshire leader Matthew Golby (Con), seen by LGC, confirmed Andrew Quincey, who was appointed interim chief executive in April following the resignation Damon Lawrenson, will leave on 27 July.
Mark McLaughlin joined Northamptonshire as chief finance officer two months before the council issued a section 114 notice in February.
Cllr Golby wrote: “I am pleased to confirm that these are voluntary resignations and as such there will be no settlement payments.
“I want to thank both Andrew and Mark for all their hard work and dedication to the council over the short and tumultuous period they have been with us.”
Northamptonshire has begun the process of recruiting a new chief executive, with interviews starting today.
Cllr Golby said Mr Quincey is set to join a construction project in Sydney, Australia.
Explaining Mr Lawrenson’s departure, he said: “Mark has made it clear that given the Commissioners are now in place and the recruitment process is under way for a new Chief Executive, the council is moving into its next phase and therefore it is only right that he steps aside at this time.”
