Norfolk CC has appointed Matt Dunkley as interim executive director of children’s services, taking over from incumbent interim Andrew Bunyan. Mr Dunkley is a former director of children’s services at East Sussex CC and has served as president of the Association of Directors of Children’s Services. The council said his task will be to steer Norfolk though its next full Ofsted inspection of child social care, where it aimed to “create a clear path towards a solid ‘good’ rating”. For the past three years Mr Dunkley has worked in Australia as a regional director for Department of Education and Training in Victoria. He has also led a review of mental health services across government.
