Solace president announced

Doncaster MBC chief executive Jo Miller is to become the new president of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives & Senior Managers.

Ms Miller beat Luton BC chief executive Trevor Holden in an election of Solace’s members.

Ms Miller received 60% of the vote (174) compared to 40% for Mr Holden (115).

There was a turnout of 30% of the 956 full Solace members eligible to vote.

Ms Miller will be recommended for the role of Solace president for a term of two years at the organisation’s annual general meeting on 12 October.
