Seven candidates have been nominated by their parties to stand in the Sheffield City Region mayoral election.
Polling will open on 3 May for voters in Barnsley, Doncaster, and Rotherham MBCs and Sheffield City Council. The elected mayor will become chair of the Sheffield City Region CA, but they are not due to receive any major devolved powers as Barnsley and Doncaster at least are pushing to get a devolution deal for the whole of Yorkshire.
The full list of the candidates, in alphabetical order, can be found below. As the election covers all Labour-led authorities, Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis will be the favourite to win.
LGC has compiled a Twitter list of all the candidates which can be found by clicking this link.
