Kirklees appoints new chief executive

  • Comment

A former partner with auditing firm KPMG is to be the next chief executive of Kirklees Metropolitan Council, it has been announced.

Adrian Lythgo, currently the authority’s director of finance and performance, is to take over from Rob Vincent after he was poached by the government earlier this year to take over at troubled Doncaster MBC.

Mr Lythgo, who joined Kirklees last year, was previously an associate partner at KPMG in Leeds where worked with local authorities, the NHS and educational institutions. He will take over from interim chief executive Paul Rogerson at the start of next month.

Mr Lythgo said: “We are all acutely aware that these are difficult times for local government, but I am delighted to be given this opportunity.

“Kirklees has tremendous strengths on which to build, not least a workforce whose talent and dedication is matched by a commitment to providing high quality services.”
