LGC Awards 2015 shortlist revealed

  • Comment

The shortlist has been announced for the 2015 LGC Awards.

There were 663 entries this year from a record 222 organisations.

In the next stage of the judging process, the representatives of shortlisted councils will come face-to-face with expert peer panels to present their cases and answer searching questions. In the Council of the Year and Most Improved Council categories, LGC will stage live judging on the day of the award ceremony itself, 11 March, at Grosvenor House in London.

For information on how to join the audience for the live judging or to attend the awards, please email Flavio.Rispo@emap.com or Eloise.Puffett@emap.com.

The LGC Awards are the largest and most well-respected accolades in local government, showcasing creativity, intelligence and determination within the sector.

LGC editor Nick Golding said: “To be shortlisted for an LGC Award shows that a council’s work in this particular area really is among the best undertaken by local government across the UK.

“We have had a record number of organisations entering this year’s awards. The competition is stiffer than ever as councils use their innovation to strive to improve services at a time they must cut costs.”
