Charles Roberts has been named as the new deputy mayor of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority.
Cllr Roberts (Con), leader of East Cambridgeshire DC and combined authority portfolio holder for transport, was chosen by mayor James Palmer (Con) following the resignation for private reasons of Huntingdonshire’s Robin Howe (Con) last week.
Mr Palmer said: “Charles served as my deputy during my time as leader at East Cambridgeshire so I’m fully aware of his talents and record of delivery.”
Cllr Roberts said it was “a great honour” to take the role. He will remain as East Cambridgeshire’ leader while taking on these additional responsibilities.
