A six-year legal battle to return an antique turret clock to an historic country mansion near Welshpool has been won the Powys CC. The Daily Post reported (25 Sept, p10) that lengthy court cases followed the removal and sale of the Carillon Clock and Bells from the tower of Leighton Hall in 1991. The high court has ordered its return after the council argued the clock was an integral part of the listed building.
