A 'huge' claim for damages is being put in by property investment company Wiggins against Brent LBC over its attempts to build a leisure complex.

The Independent (p17) reports that Wiggins claims the authority had frustrated its attempt to build a£6.8m leisure complex at a site in Wembley.

The company's chief executive, Oliver Iny, told the paper: 'Brent granted us a lease for the site but didn't carry out their promises. We are claiming significantly more money than the£3m we have spent so far on the site. Brent will hurt.'
