The turnout for a public inquiry into the Stratford-on-Avon District Local Plan was so strong that the venue had to be changed at the last minute, the Birmingham Post reports (page 3).

A 130-strong group of Midland residents converged on the inquiry to protest at plans for a housing estate in the heart of their rural community. The paper says the council's bid to push through the houses scheme hinges on their plan to have a 20-acre site removed from the greenbelt.
