Morale among local authority staff in Leicestershire is at rock bottom because of local government reorganisation, according to the public service union Unison, reports BBC Leicester.

Leicester City Council and Rutland DC become unitary authorities from April next year.

About 9,000 staff will be transferred from the county council to the new city council. Unison says many employees still have not been told whether or not they will have a job and claims the whole process of restructuring has been rushed.
