The Labour party has chosen a candidate to replace disgraced 'Donnygate' councillor Ray Stockhill, reports the Yorksire Post (p5).

Labour has chosen builder David Marshall for Stockhill's Stainforth seat. Stockhill, 64, was thrown off the council after he failed to attend any meetings over a six month period. He was also found to have spent£1,000 on sex sessions with a prostitute.

Stockhill is also subject to a police investigation over an allegation that he asked for cash from developers in return for advice on planning applications.
