Ninety-three per cent of the tenants and leaseholders throughout Kensington and Chelsea LBC voted last month to manage their own council housing, in the first borough-wide vote of its kind in the UK, reports the Times (p35).

The tenants and leaseholders will be the first in Britain to manage a borough's entire housing stock - in this case 9,700 council dwellings worth an estimated £110m, through their own Tenant Management Organisation.
