Town hall workers in Salford are bracing themselves for cuts of up to £10 million, the Manchester Evening News reports.

The paper says that the council's finance chairman Bernard Pennington said the cuts could be double those made in February when 150 jobs were lost in making £5.5 million savings to meet spending targets.
