Salisbury DC has fought off a legal challenge to its single status agreement.

Two staff whose pay would be reduced under the agreement went to the Court of Appeal, but lost because judges ruled that Salisbury had protected earnings and acted legally in contract variations.

Gillian Leach, a partner in law firm Blake Lapthorn Linnell, which acted for Salisbury, said: 'Had the Court of Appeal ruled the other way, the whole [single status] process could have been thrown into confusion.'
