Portsmouth City Council and Westminster City Council have both confirmed they are to press ahead with private finance initiative projects to build new schools.
Portsmouth has awarded a£47 million private finance initiative deal to build and manage a new secondary school to the Grannag consortium.
The consortium comprises property consultant King Sturge & Co, King & Co Financial Services, builder Ballast Wiltshier, consulting engineer Mott MacDonald and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Westminster has agreed a£32m deal with the St George's Square Partnership to rebuild Pimlico school. The partnership includes Costain, Kier, Tilbury Douglas and Berkeley Homes.
