The school of teenager Caroline Dickinson, who was murdered while on a school holiday in Brittany, has issued personal alarms to children going on a geography field trip in Britain, the Daily Telegraph reports (p6).

The headmaster of Launceston College, in Cornwall, issued the alarms after consulting parents and police. A Cornwall County Council spokesman said: 'It is a test to see how comfortable the pupils are with them. When they return, the school will see if they will use them for future trips'.
