A report providing detailed information on the committee and management structures of Scotland's 32 councils in 1997, has been published by COSLA.

'Scotland's Councils Structures 1997' follows on from the earlier publication of September 1995, entitled 'The New Councils Appointments and Structures: Interim Report', which gave information on the structures being established during the councils 'shadow' year.

Commenting on the publication, COSLA's chief executive, Douglas Sinclair said: 'The latest report gives up to date details of councils' committee and management structures for all 32 councils to the third tier level of management.'

Mr Sinclair concluded: 'It is COSLA's intention to produce the report annually and in future include an analysis in changes to council structures.'
