Scottish council leaders will warn Scottish housing minister Raymond Robertson today that government plans to cut housing expenditure will have a catastrophic effect on the Scottish economy.

The Scotsman (p7) reports that Keith Geddes, COSLA president said that the government's decision to force councils to use 75 per cent of receipts from council house sales to pay off debt would result in a loss of £170m for spending on housing.ENSA
