The omission of Scottish Nationalist candidates from the final nominations for the EC committee of Regions has caused anger among party leaders, the Herald reports (p9).

The UK has 24 places on the 189-strong EC consultative committee. Previously Cosla had proposed only Labour candidates and one Independent and the final list allows one full place for the Tories.
