It is important for police forces in Scotland to rebuild relationships with the new unitary authorities, outgoing chief inspector of constabulary John Boyd said yesterday, reports The Glasgow Herald (p9).

Progress had been good so far, he said, particularly in Strathclyde. But he said there had been serious concerns in the police service over reorganisation as it had resulted in fragmentation of the one-door approach to some issues.
