Plans to prevent people buying second homes in one of Britain's national parks are reported to have been dropped, according to The Sunday Times (p30).

The proposals for Exmoor national park were seen as a blueprint for other areas with an influx of holiday-home owners. They are said to have been dropped after park authority members bowed to advice from the government, which said the plans were unworkable.
