A new survey has found that the highest paid senior managers secured earnings increases of between 11.8% and 14.2% over the past 12 months - well ahead of the average rise enjoyed by their employees.

The Financial Times (p4) reports that this is one of the main findings of the twice-yearly management pay survey published today by Monks Partnership, the independent remuneration advisers.

The survey, which looked only at the private sector, confirms the continuing growth of executive pay compared with employees' wages.
