An improvement service has been launched to help Scottish councils learn from each other.

The service, backed by the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, the Scottish Executive and the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives & Senior Managers Scotland, will spread best practice across local government.

Douglas Sinclair, chair of Solace Scotland, said the introduction of multi-member wards in the next election made the training of councillors particularly important.
