Sheffield Homes has launched a partnership with the police to tackle tenants who make false claims of criminal damage to get repairs done free of charge to their homes.

The Sheffield City Council arm's-length management organisation said all claims would be investigated and tenants charged for work where false claims are detected.

Investment director Jon Lovibond said there could be 'serious consequences' for false claims. Repeat offenders will be identified through joint profiling systems with the police.
