The Evening Standard (p7) carries a story about a car parking space drawn up by Waltham Forest Council which is estimated to have cost about £1,600.

The space was asked for by a Guyanese high commissioner and the matter has gone through the planning department, highways and services committee and works department. The legal department was also involved because of red tape under the Vienna Convention over giving parking spaces to diplomats and the move was publicised in the local paper.
