Criminal charges may be brought against social workers in the Ayrshire sex abuse case, reports The Independent (p5).

Sheriff Colin Miller's damning report into the way social services handled the case is being considered by the Crown Office in Edinburgh.

An office spokesman said they were looking at the report to see which matters to pursue.

Sheriff Miller found care workers had 'massaged and distorted' evidence and used 'flawed and appalling' techniques to prove allegations of Satanic abuse.
