The regions of England with the greatest number of people moving out were the South East of England (253,000) the North West (105,000), and the South West (104,000).

The most popular English regional destinations for internal migrants were the South East (238,000) and the South West (128,000).

The English regions with the largest net population gain were the South West (24,000) followed by the East Midlands and East Anglia (both 10,000).

The greatest net losses of population were in the South East (16,000) and the North West (11,000).
