South West Water, one of the ten privatised water companies, has refused to recognise Unison, Britain's biggest trade union, the Financial Times reports (p8).

The paper says that South West Water is the second water company to refuse to recognise the union - earlier this year Wessex took similar action. South West Water is reported as saying that the merger of three unions to form Unison earlier this year meant Unison was a public rather than private sector.
