The South Yorkshire Transport Authority, owned by four local councils, has sold the Mainline Bus Group to the staff, reports The Yorkshire Post (p15).

Mainline, which controls two thirds of the market in South Yorkshire, was the last publicly-owned bus company to survive intact since deregulation in 1986, says the paper.
