An inquest has revealed that a man who put his dog into RSPCA care because he could not afford to feed it later starved to death in his council flat.

Saturday's Daily Telegraph (p2), and the Times (p3) report that Tim Anstey died after a probable 50 days without food.

Hampshire CC social services, the probation service and Southampton Community Health Services Trust are conducting an inquiry into his death.
