The Evening Standard (p7) carries a story about Westminster Council's continual failure to publish a district auditor's investigation into alleged election rigging in the borough.

The report is now unlikely to be published until the new year, says the paper, and in response shadow environment secretary, Jack Straw, tabled two motions in the Commons today in which he accuses former council leaders Dame Shirley Porter and David Weeks of a 'deliberate strategy' to hinder the inquiry.

The inquiry concerns allegations that under a 'designated sales policy' the council 'earmarked' certain estates as they became vacant. The aim, it is alleged, was to replace Labour supporters with affluent Tory voters. ENDs
