A Chigwell woman has launched a high court action against Tower Hamlets LBC claiming more than £50,000 for illness which she alleges she suffered, among other things, as a result of sex discrimination at work.

Roberta Gold claims that she suffered ulcerative colitis as a result of stressful conditions she was placed in at work, including sex discrimination.

Her writ accuses Tower Hamlets of sex discrimination over an application made by her to job share and in the way it treated her over her applications for promotion to head of neighbourhood legal services.
