Stress dominates working hours rather than job satisfaction and workplace friendships, according to a an ICM poll published yesterday, The Guardian (p8) reports.

The survey of 2,000 staff in six industries including the public sector, found that the biggest gripe amongst employees was working in a stressful atmosphere.

The survey concluded that most people feel quality of life was more important than status and company perks.
