Two thousand Newham LBC UNISON members are voting tonight on a call for indefinite strike action amid accusations of 'union bashing'.

The Newham Recorder reports (p1) that council chief executive Wendy Thomson wrote the UNISON stating that because of the union's failure to relocate, it was 'no longer deemed appropriate to continue to provide facilities above the council's legal obligations'.

Two full-time branch officials have been ordered back to their council jobs.
