The woman who led the award-winning campaign to halt privatisation of the Post Office has been appointed to the £48,000 assistant chief executive 'quality and communications' post at Camden LBC, reported the Ham & High (p17 19 July).

Julia Simpson, 38, who is currently chief press officer at the Communication Workers Union, has never worked in local government before, but told the paper she relished the prospect of getting Camden's message across to residents and staff.
