The Scotsman (p10) reports that a teacher who was convicted of a homosexual offence has won an appeal against a decision of the General Teaching Council of Scotland to expel him.

John Murphy, who taught drama at an East Kilbride school, had been denied natural justice, the court of session heard.

Members of the GTC's disciplinary committee were told that Mr Murphy had received a police warning five years ago, but he was given no chance to dispute the claim.
