The Secondary Heads Association has called on a new Labour government to end prime ministerial interference in education, reports the Independent (p10).

The Conservative government was attacked for placing political dogma and party needs above education.

At the association's conference at Torquay SHA general secretary John Sutton said Labour, with its presidential-style approach, risked letting spin doctors speak louder than schools in the education debate.
