Former senior Tory minister Norman Tebbit, in his column in The Sun (p9), attacks Gedling BC for a decision to 'paint the town red'.

Labour took control of the authority for the first time in 21 years in May. Mr Tebbit says that sign posts, litter bins, dustcarts, even notepaper will be turned from blue to burgundy red.

'New Labour still hasn't replaced old loony Labour on Gedling Council,' he writes.
